We would love you to browse through our coast-inspired hardwood light and shade collections.
All of our lights are dependent on the timber available. Where possible we will craft a matching pair from the same piece of wood to ensure grain consistency and colour. The 'perfect pairs' pages identify matched partners where available.
Living on the south coast of Dorset we can't help but be influenced by the sea. Our lighthouse inspired handcrafted lights are made from the finest hardwoods. These are mainly sourced from local woodlands, but occasionally we use more colourful and exotic species from around the world. These tactile pieces are hand-tooled on a lathe in our Dorset workshop. The lights are complemented by elegant shades made using the finest quality handmade papers.
Each wood has a unique grain structure or figuring and our styles are designed to reflect this. With their clean lines they have a timeless, almost Scandinavian elegance and simplicity. View our woods.
If you would like to see some of our lights in a beautiful setting, a selection can be found in the Store at The Makers Yard, part of the wonderful Sculpture by the Lakes park at Pallington, near Dorchester in Dorset. To find out more click on their website link sculpturebythelakes.co.uk.
All our electrical components, except the cords, are sourced from British manufacturers. Our bulb holders, in particular, are solid metal items of the highest quality. They feature finishes in bright chrome and satin nickel.
We only use fabric-covered, twisted or round flexible cords that are designed specifically for lighting use. Our range of colours extends from vibrant kiwi green and bright blue through to soft ivory and silver. These are sourced from a specialst manufacturer in Italy. View our cords .
We offer a small range of drum lampshades covered in translucent handmade papers. The papers, imported from Nepal and Thailand, complement the natural sophistication of the woods using petals, leaves and lokta fibres in a soft palette of colours. View our shades.
